Computer Software: Buy or Free
Some operating systems and software applications are very expensive to purchase, while some are free. Some programmers expect to be paid for their work, while others like to share it for free with anyone who wants it. What do you think? Should you be able to obtain computer software at no cost? Should computer programmers be willing to share their work with others without expecting to be paid for it? What are the advantages and disadvantages to these distribution methods?

ReplyDeleteI feel that if someone wants to make a website for free or sell it is their own choice. If I were a computer processor I would charge for my product because i spent hardwork on it and would want to be rewarded for it. But, it also depends on the quality of the work the software is. I would refuse to buy a terrible software that was the same price as a decent software. Plus, some people may enjoy just working with computers and creating software for fun but now a days money is hard to come buy and every little thing you do costs money so then they should be given a decent reward.

ReplyDeleteI think that it is totally up to the maker of the software as to whether they think they should be paid so the advantages and disadvantages will all depend on the creators personal decision.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comments so far. Don't worry if you aren't quite sure about this blogging stuff. Just keep watching what is going on and try it yourself and see what happens.

ReplyDeleteI agree with Cody. But I think that if the maker chooses to charge the price should be negotiable.
